APAC Business Unit Manager

The Citi Investment Resarch & Ananlysis (CIRA) APAC Business Unit Manager is a key management position responsible for overseeing all business operational functions for Asia Pacific.  The position includes taking a proactive role in developing, implementing, and managing various business processes required to achieve the Division's overall strategy. 
 
The BUM reports directly to the Pan Asia Head of Research and with a dotted line to CIRA's Global Chief Operating Office (COO). This position is located in Hong Kong and occasional travel is required.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct responsibility for processes within APAC Research involving budgeting, financial reporting, compensation, facilities, and risk management.  This includes development and institutionalization of analyst performance management systems as well as recruitment, development, compensation and retention programs for APAC Research. 
Developing quality assurance processes to ensure CIRA's high quality standards are met.
Contribute on a monthly basis to the business review process and communicate the divisional performance both from a financial and operational standpoint.
Focus on improving operational efficiency across the entire business with a view to sharpening expense discipline. 
Facilities management, risk management, hiring of new staff, staff performance appraisals and expense authorization signatory for all business expenses. 
Ensure all staff and technology related business expenses are managed within annual budget, reported monthly in the review.

Experience in managing strategic/operations planning, budgeting and/or management reporting functions, and will be highly process oriented with a successful track record of developing and completing projects.
Strong communication and business writing skills are a must
Willingness and ability to interact with internal clients and support groups is critical to success.
Experience with strong proven background in managing performance metrics
Ability to interact with Senior Management
Be able to assume responsibility for projects and take leadership in situations
Solid project/time management skills
Be able to work under time pressured situations
Good understanding of the overall Equities business and strong understanding of sell-side Research
